Alina Ligia Dumitrescu has been working at the Institute for World Economy since graduation of the College Finance and Accounting, ASE, Bucharest (1991) and since august 2007, she is Senior Researcher. At present, Dr. Dumitrescu performs her scientific work within the Centre for European Studies.     

Alina Ligia Dumitrescu has a PhD in Economics from National Institute of Economic Research – Romanian Academy (1999), graduated from the Program in Applied Economics of the Institute of Advanced Studies in Vienna, Austria and studied Applied Social Sciences at Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, Ohio, USA.

Her research specialisation includes: European Affairs (Policies, Governance, Europeanization Institutions), Labor Market and Employment Policies in EU, Poland, Macroeconomics, Interdisciplinary Research.

Her research activity has been focused on participation to the:

  • Romanian Academy Fundamental Research Programs (ESEN, ESEM);
  • National Institute of Economic Research Programs – Institute for World Economy Programs on the Evaluation of the European Integration and on the Economic Reforms in Central and Eastern Europe;
  • Scientific articles indexed in international databases
