European Studies and Affairs

The Centre for European Studies and Affairs – Internal Market and Competition of the Institute for World Economy was in 2000 under the Phare Project „Training in European Affairs”, coordinated by the European Institute of Romania. The strategic objective of the Centre is to assist Romania and Romanians’ preparation for accession to European Union. The Centre is the main resource and provider of education, training and information programmes in various fields of European Affairs, in particular Eu Internal Market and Competition policy.

Centre’s activity is a combination of research, training, information and consultancy work in specific topics – EU Internal Market and Competition policy – as well as in general matters related to European Affairs. The Centre for European Studies and Affairs – Internal Market and Competition, as a member of the Network of European Studies Centres in Romania and of the Romanian Association for European Integration Studies has the possibility of participating in various international research projects, in order to provide European Studies of Excellence and support information and training activities. 

The Centre for European Studies and Affairs – Internal Market and Competition has its own Documentation Centre with a New Media laboratory and a specialized library (endowed with the support provided under the Phare project), playing an important role in the information strategy, as well as in the monitoring EU activity. The information products are addressed to businessmen and professionals (and particularly to their associations), leaders of opinion, the different levels of public administration, other public and private institutions, academic community.
